I'm using ESR Beta 9b to run backups.
I've been burning games on both DVD+R/-R and they've been working fine, but my recent burns aren't working.
    Working games include: FFVII:DoC on Sony DVD+R (4x), SMT: Nocturne DVD+R (2.4X), and Persona 4 DVD-R (2.4x)
I patched Metal Slug and burned it on DVD+R (the same as above) discs at both 2.4x and 4x but I get an unknown media type error.

I also tried cleaning my laser and adjusting the white ticker beneath it (the other games work with its current setting).
The alternate ESR Gui didn't work either. I'm out of ideas now =S.

    Any help appreciated.

Your burner is slowly dying? Also, try changing the book type to DVD-ROM.

Well, I couldn't change the book-type for my HP HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L on ImgBurn so I tried nero instead.
I changed the booktype to DVD-ROM and burned at 4x. Still doesn't work.
To be sure I verified the isos are working using PCSX2.

Could it really be my driver? (Oh yea, its external too)

Oh and also, for some games I got an "INVALID MEDIA IN DRIVE" Hows that different from "UNKNOWN MEDIA" ?
