ESR says unknown media in drive

hi. i installed FMCB with McBoot 1.8b Noobie Package found here: http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=exploit.html

ps2 model is SCPH-30001 and everything is working but the ESR.
i patched the ISOs with ESR disk patcher GUI v0.24a. burn at low speeds (both 4x & 8x) on good quality Sony DVD-R. the disks will boot fine using swap magic and HDL, just not ESR.

i googled and found a few more occurrences with this particular model. is there something else i can do to get my backups working?

please read that thread... exact same problem as you, on the exact same ps2 model.

there are acouple things i would try..
1: i would try a different brand/batch of dvd for a test burn.
2: try esr r9b, *might not make a difference, BUT its only 29kb compared to the esr gui which is 384kb, so save room on the memcard anyway*.
3: try another game
4: try cleaning the laser lense with a q-tip.
