Hmmm... It shouldn't change anything. But once again... that's not the behavior I'm getting here (still, launching through uLE works as usual, through PS2Multiloader hangs due to overwriting one of the modules). This time you're the one that's privileged.
To get privileged once in a while is good.
It's not to much in life i can assure you that.

PS. What version of PS2 Multiloader do you use? Maybe this is the point where we're getting different results .
Not coincidence, remember, i've tested with two other discs that I have and was not working before, including one with uLE, i reburm one to change the VER string but i had to press circle again to select mode 1.33, booting at ver 1.01 and 1.44 doesn't work, PS2 dye at violet screen and black screen in the
other.
Maybe the guys that developed the multiloader knew something we don't about this thing. The PS2 Multiloader that i have is the same that i've sent you by PM.
If you have a non working/non compatible with ESR game around make a test to see if it will work changing that string.
The god news is that i was able to open the CDFS:/ in the 10K with ESR9b (mcard) Yeah!!!!
The bad news is that it only works in a very special condition
1 - Boot uLE(v4.26).
2 - Go to configuration and turn off "Reset IOP"
3 - Run ESR9b mcard.
4 - Back in uLE i can browse CDFS but i can't launch anything, the system dyes in a black screen and no screen colors.
Problem is that if i left "Reset IOP" OFF uLE crashes and the ANALOG Led turns on and I can't turn it off or use uLE in 10K or 90K.
So i change the FMCB configuration to boot ESR9b mcard holding "UP" button, ESR runs, goes back to uLE but no access to CDFS, if "Reset IOP" is OFF uLE crashes soon after in 90K and 10K.
Did a change again, this time to boot ESR9b dvdv direct/off right from FMCB, but it dies at the logo screen and no screen colors.
Hah, a little step forward . Not really useful though.
In theory it should work now. In the bios dump I got, it seems there is only CDVDMAN/CDVDFSV but no XCDVDMAN and XCDVDFSV. Usually in homebrew apps iop reset is made with eeloadcnf config for update, which on newer consoles will load XCDVDMAN and CDVDFSV. It doesn't have this file, so it will load CDVDMAN and CDVDFSV (just as if NULL is used). In previous versions it would cause bad patchset to be loaded (aimed at x modules and modules from game iop replacement images). This have been fixed, so after proper detection of 10k it will always use standard module patchset for everything else than CDVDMAN/CDVDFSV from game iop replacement images. But that's just a theory... for some reason it fails on your console.
I'll try to make some diagnostic tools to diagnose this case thoroughly.
With the release of ESR r9b beta .... I'm now able to play Metal Slug (J) .. "a.k.a. Metal Slug 3D" .. I tried the versions before with no luck .. I had to use Swap Magic to run it. But with the Direct On version . .BAM!! No more swap .. awsome job. Unfortunately still can't seem to get Initial D to run .. but im way stoked none the less.. Big thumbs up to you guys.
Hey ffgriever on esr nice job I have been in this since psone days and are
converting all my ps2 games to esr dvdv mode etc on the jak and daxter
issue where you change the iop disable and synchonus mode to make it
work..... Is it possible to code esr to detect which mode is best for
each game as it is booted to make them work? It's just a thought it
seems like this is what you have been doing all along basically improving
esr with each release anyway thanx a million I finally was able to throw
out that fliptop on one of my ps2's.........
Finally a sigh of relief from swapping goodnight independance exploit!
Currently testing Games on
