lol, thats easy..........just write on your disc what it is when you burn it and you will know what it is.

I got it even easier, all my games are originals so you can kinda see wether it's a game or not, and my movies are mostly originals so same story there.

I indeed meant that if ESR could see the difference between a dvd-video and a dvdv-game, and if it's a game launch the game, and if not, launch the dvd-player. But I thought of something else. Say u would use the osd-hack to launch ESR whenever a DVDV-Game is inserted ( and show "ESR-Game" in the top-right corner @ browser) and launch the DVD-Player when a DVD-Video was inserted, that would be neat huh.. but wether it's possible, I'll leave that to the osd-hacker among us, hint hint neme :P

How do you get it to boot ESR when you have an ESR disc in? I would like to get rid of the "This disc cannot be played due to regional restrictions"error you get if you boot the PS2 with an ESR disc in...

It will be added to the next revision of ESR (r9b). It doesn't increase the code size too much.

Telling PS2DVDV games from PS2DVD games and real DVDVideo isn't hard. Check this one... this is the ESR Gui concept (no, it doesn't do anything else beside displaying media and the usual gui stuff, the r9b incomplete ESR has been removed before posting ... It should be ready in a week or two).

This will display the media in drive in bottom status bar... It has no problem telling DVDVideo from PS2DVDV . Note, that some modchips will make all DVD to appear as PS2DVD games... so to get this right, test it without modchips .

I replaced the DVD-Player Update with an osd-main file renaimed to dvdplayer.elf, there has to be tut about it somewhere,,,,

Hi all.
First of all I want to thank ffgriever and everyone else that helps out in this brilliant project!
I've been using Memento on Memor 32 for just a couple of months, so I'm very new at this. Memento can play pretty much everything I throw at it except Singstar games. I was a very happy man when I found ESR wich was able to do that. My life became much easier with two very happy teenage daughters at home.
After reading around here I have only one question (well, actually a lot more then one but I'll save those) with Memento I can play ISO's of my USB HDD but from what I understand that is not possible with ESR? Have I understood that correctly? If it is possible, how would I do that?

ESR is only for reading burned-patched DVDs.
Nothing more!
It has nothing to do with loading games from other devices.
...only to let the PS2 access ESR/Memento-Patched discs.
