This is, what I'm hoping for,...
    ESR with (nearly) perfect bootrate + dvdv-diff (detect if ESR-DVDV, or DVD-Video) *1, integrated cdvd-fix *2.

    *1
This will also allow a very easy fastboot for these "two" medias.
And you ever simply could update ESR, without FMCB installed on your MC.
Only ESR, or ESR + FMCB.
    FMCB needs a few fixes.

    *2
@PALGamer: If you could test it, please report all, what seems useful.

I provided some solutions and "nice to haves" to Jimmi and he says, that he will implement some/all(? ).
But he really surprised me with a nice OSD-"Feature".
    This has potential!
    PS2 V7/DMS3 V2 (FW:2.4b7); Seagate Baracuda 200GB
    PS2 V7/CC1.0 (FW:34 hacked v2 BM:2.1.6); Maxtor DiamondMAX9 PLUS 160GB
    PS2 SCPH-30004R; NoMod+NoLaser

    3xSony BBA
    3xSony MC 8MB
    MAX/Datel 16MB with Boot-CD
    MAX/Datel 32MB&64MB

    Custom FMCB 1.8b+ Beta-Build, my AIO 0.5, Sony&xRhino-Linux

Sorry guys, but no new features until ESR gets satisfactory (I'm the judge ) compatibility for both games and homebrew software. Though, I read all suggestions. Some were planned from the beginning, few are most likely to be implemented, others were already discarded.

Now waiting for test results of ESR r8a-dev.... no big changes, simply giving the compatibility to the games that lost it in r8 back. Anyone else besides yot does have SSX On Tour and Hot Shots Golf Fore or other games that worked in r7 but refuse to load in r8?

Well, what can I say, It's superb.
All my games that needed swap magic now work perfectly, I'll start testing the other ones that run normally with memento, until now only Gran Turismo 3 doesn't work, and I think it's odd, because it looks equal to Gran Turismo 4 that runs ok (Althought in fact It's different, as 3 works with memento and 4 doesn't).

One thing that I do not understood yet: It is said that CDVD fix is needed. I suppose it is the mod that allows the system to see the content of the DVD video. However for some reason I'm starting the system from memento, again, and if I start ULE it doesn't show the contents of a memento patched video DVD witch I understand, what I do not is, if I run ESR the same way, as I usually do, it sees that content, witch I would suppose it shouldn't as there's no CDVD fix in my card... Or is it only necessary on the mass version of ESR?

    Hi,

I've tested last version with the Memor32 card, launching the elf directly (ESR beta r8 dvd direct off.elf and ESR beta r8 dvdv direct.elf), and it works, and it beats the memento success rate at booting games. Also, the games tested were in a DVD-RW.

It's not that by any means. He's been busy with bug fixes, amongst other project related tasks. Also most of the users here have jobs and family to consider as well.

I didn't expect him to integrate it so soon into the installer, just sent it to him to take a look. I don't even know if it's at all useful. But if someone want to play with it i'll post the code.

Not that is really matters but I never understood why ps2 apps use the extension cnf for there config files, it seems to me ini would be more practicle.

.cnf is the .ini for a ps2, same as .elf is the .exe.

Remember, you gotta think Linux, not windows.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

Sure but the hardware dose not require the extension for this purpose and it just makes it slightley harder to edit for Windows users who are in the majority.
