I used the different ELF and it doesn't start uLaunch ELF anymore, but I am still getting a black screen. Does it matter if the file is named ESR.elf, or does it have to be named ESR.ELF (Capitalized)

EDIT: Looks like it does. I renamed it from elf to ELF and it worked (I had to plug my flash drive back into my laptop and do it there and recopy it because rename was dimmed out in ULE's file manager). I guess the black screen was a failure to find "ESR.ELF" once I had it renamed I kinda thought that was the solution even before the game loaded because I seen the ESR Splash screen which I didn't even see before...

PS What is "ESR beta r9b dvdv direct off.elf" for?

In his previous post, which you've quoted in your previous post.

The 3 modes for ESR he was talking about, are the options which you can turn on/off in the ESR-GUI-Version.

The ESR-'DVD OFF'-Version is like if you start a game through the GUI, but with the option to 'disable ESR after first IOP-Reset' turned on.

Hello, i'm trying to run a backup of Simpsons Hit and RUN NTSC-US but my gamepad gets compeltely froozen once the title screen is loaded.
The screen asks me to press start but it seems that my gamepad is completely unresponsive to the game.
I'm using ESR r9b.
Could it be an compatibility issue? I did check the comptaibility list and this game was listed as compatible. Could it be because my PSX gamepad (the gray ones) are not supported by ESR?

Could it be, that you simply need a DualShock2 for this game and not a PS1-Controller?
What happens if you try it with your original game. :P

Hello... Im just wondering... My friend has Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories game on a DVD-R that was being used on ESR (it was patched.) and he lost the original game disc. All that's left was the Patched DVDR. The ISO file was also deleted quite a long time ago... I helped him ripped out the DVD-R. The iso file was identified as DVD Video since it was patched...

Would it be fine to unpatch the ISO file and we will still arrive with the original ISO or Game Disc image? Would it affect compatibility with OPL or PS2ESDL?

He really wants to play it on USB coz his ps2 laser is already making some problems.

Yes, just use IMG-Burn, CloneCD, or another application, which creates ISOs sector-wise... [DVD-Decrypter won't work on ESR-patched discs, afaik (produces a Mini-ISO).]

Once you got a valid image from an ESR-Disc, unpatch it again.

Help me to understand, there are several versions of ESR ?

ESR GUI is 3 in 1, but UnStable ?

Is the ESR in new noobie good enough for my friend, i need to install ESR on his PS2.

He will only play from disc?

I dont need the ESR with gray screen, and modes, i dont need to confuse him more than he is confused right now .....

Is ESR GUI fully compatible with ESR in new noobie? Wich one is more stable?
