If you can't even get it working using cogswap, it's quite possible the disc is bad to begin with.
Bad burn, cheap media, incorrect disc format......anything along those lines.

Have you tried using a Swap Magic ELF as well? I had 1 or 2 games that often wouldn't load using Cogswap but would using the SM ELF. If this doesn't work either, chances are the above is true.

I thought about that, so I burned it again and still no luck.

I have the Swap Magic Elf, just never used it. I'll try it now. Also, Spiderman 2 isn't working with DVDloader either.

    ---Edit---
Well, I just tried it....well attempted too. It said "Not a valid PS2 disc" on every PS2 DVD I tried. I tried with 7 different games...

Laser troubles I bet. Can you still get retail games to load? If so, do they seem sluggish in loading?

I can load retail games, they aren't sluggish. And all my other non-retail games work fine.

I just looked up the game in question, and I think I know EXACTLY what the problem is.

Spiderman Web of Shadows looks to be CD game based on the size. You say you patched the image with ESR patcher though, which leaves only one possible problem.

The executable, any possible IRX modules and images are not patched for DVD. You need to copy the files off the disc, patch with DVD Scanlite 3.7 and create a new UDF ISO, patch with ESR Patcher and burn.

This is the only thing I can think of being wrong otherwise.

    Bad iso.....!!!!!

Frem where did you get the game... did you rip it urself ?
    Did you download it?

try to put ur burned dvd in the drive...
go then to sony browser.... does it say "dvd video disc" or something like that... or does it not show anything????

if the iso is a good copy... and the patch is correct.. then ur sony browser should say it is a dvd video disc!!!!!!! if not... then ur patch is not correct or the iso is a bad copy/rip/download!!!!!!!!!!!
