ESR patched game does not work

hello i need help with free mcboot or ESR im not sure which one.
anyway im using an old Fat ps2 with a memory card that has free mcboot on it.
it boots as freemcboot and it has all the necesarry programs on it.
i have ESR patched ps2 games with iso images burned onto them. NTSC ones
just the ones i need. when i put one in it takes almost 30 seconds to get
to the boot up screen and it says FreeMc Boot loading until then. Then i go
to "ESR" to launch cddvd and on the bottom it says "unknown media in drive".
I click on launch cddvd and it just goes to a black screen and nothing happens
and the game never loads. what should i do?

Well you didn't state your model and your type of DVD

So here is an answer but maybe not right

First use better DVD-R verbatim is the best
second sounds to me if not that your laser is dirty or going bad

FYI this was moved to ESR it is an ESR ?
