I'm fairly new to the ESR scene, so I expect my problem to be trivial. I skimmed quite a few threads and didn't find a problem similar to mine, so I'm hoping someone can help me here. I successfully installed FMCB to my memory card, and ESR along with it. However, when I go to boot up ESR, it does nothing but go to the splash screen and then go black. It doesn't even attempt to read the disk, as it isn't spinning when I start up ESR. Any ideas about what the problem could be?
1 will your PS2 run official DVD if not you will have to fix PS2 DVD if possible
2 did you patch with ESR patcher first before burn
3 you could be using bad DVD Try verbatim work best
I just solved my problem by accident. Apparently loading uLE through Swap Magic and then booting ESR works. That seems like a bit of a roundabout process, though. Is there a way I don't have to go through SM and uLE?
If you have 9xxxx model that is the only way
If you have 77xxx model backwards then install FMCB it should boot on it own

If You have blackscreen, it has nothing to do with ESR, because he has zero chance to do something until optical device verified Your game as valid disc - in this matter DVD-Video (this is why You must applied "ESR patch" on game image before You burn it).
