ESR no media in disc? –
Okay, i copied an old backup of indiana jones and the staff of kings. When i load it on my ps2, i boot up esr and it just says no media in drive, when i clearly put the disc in the drive! I'm using verbatim dvd-r's and burned at 2x, if that's any help.
First question, did you patch the ISO before burning it? You can find ESR disc patcher here (ESR - public beta), it'll be on the bottom of the first post again.
If you did patch the ISO, can your PS2 read original discs? Can it read DVD 9 games?
If the PS2 can't read original discs then the laser is close to its end. If that is the case then you will either need to replace the laser or find some other way to launch games.
Ok, i patched the disc, and it burned and ran. Here's the problem:I burned prince of persia sands of times with verbatim dvd-r's at 4x speed. Then, either 2 things happen
1 The game loads and hangs at the loading screen
2 The game loads and goes through the loading screen, but hangs at the prince fo persia screen (it has all the legal mumbo jumbo on the bottom.
How can i get the game to fully load?
It sounds like your laser is close to its end. I would look for some kind of alternative loading method. Try using Open PS2 Loader (OPL) to load from either USB, internal hard drive (fat PS2 only) or over network.
If you really want to load from the disc you can always flip the PS2 upside down, for a fat PS2 the logo would be touching the floor or if you have a slim the tray should be touching the floor. I know it sounds stupid but this worked for me for the longest time. However, when the laser in your PS2 does reach its end, your only choices would be OPL or replacing the laser.
Ok, this might sound patronising, so I applogise in advance, however, if you used some form of sensor block to install FMCB and ESR, have you now removed at least one of the sensor blocks so that ESR can detect when you change disc and close the PS2 lid?

At this point, if you haven't removed your sensor block ESR will have now way to know you have placed a DVD in the tray and will read "No Media in Drive" I haven't seen any tutorials which state to do this so thought I'd mention it.
