ESR Help?

Hey there.
I'm trying to get some of my discs working with ESR, i put the disc in(patched iso burnt to DVD at slowest speed) and i see the crazy colors, and then it just boots ULE, so i browse to the CD and launch the file that ends in ".54" or any two numbers. and it runs the game.
all the games i've patched work, i just have to launch them myself..
Is there a reason its not just booting the game up?

Are you using the correct version of ESR?

ESR beta r9b dvdv direct.elf <- this is the one you should be using
direct off.elf
mcard.elf <- boots to ULE and enables disc access.

Hmm i could have sworn i had that version on there, but i re added it to the memcard and it works now!
