I have found another game that does not play with ESR r9.
V-RALLY 3 pal SLES 507.25.
Thanks, I'll check it.

I don't know about those brands, but WinDVD has proven a bit of a potshot, while Phillips worked out quite nicely so far.

ESR beta r8a / r9 (both DVDV direct / direct off tested)
Game: Onimusha - Warlords
IOPRP Files found: IOPRP20.IMG; IOPRP202.IMG; IOPRP214.IMG
Patcher: ESR Patcher 0.2.4
Media: DVD-R Verbatim 16x (MCC03RG20)
Burned with: ImgBurn 22.214.171.124 @ 4x
Colors: Red (fast), blue (fast), magenta (Slow), white (fast), cyan (slow)
Problem: Game loads fine, but a black screen appears when selecting the New Game option. I tested the game on PCSX2 and it works fine (slow, but fine).

Dance Dance Revolution - Party Collection NTSC-J SLPM-62427
CD game converted to DVD with DVD Scan 3.7
Used Nero, also ImgBurn
Patched with ESR Patch Java v0.2.4
Boot Method is FMCB 1.5 + ESR beta r9
I tried straight CD files --> DVD, burned with Nero ,and also rebuilt the image with CD Mage and used ImgBurn to burn the disc.
ESR boot screen > then the colors red> blue> pink> white> green. After this the game shows the loading icon at the bottom of the screen, then goes black.
Note - This game does not work with HD loader either (normal cd)
Wireless Guitars break ESR
Wireless Guitars break ESR –
I have ESR r9 and if a wireless guitar is plugged in it either locks up at the black screen (when synced) or goes into the PS2 main screen(if not synced). The only way I found around this is to plug in a standard controller and wait until it starts to blink the colors. Any one else experience this possibly even with wireless controllers? I don't have a Wired Guitar so I can't test that.
I have a guitar hero 3 wireless guitar plugged into port 1 and a standard ps2 controller in port 2. Booting guitar hero 1 with ESR r9 works fine here using this setup. If I get a chance tomorrow I will try with just the wireless guitar and no controller and see if it still works. What wireless guitar are you using and what game are you booting?
I'm getting the same behavior with GH II, GH III, or GH Aerosmith and a wireless guitar. I'm using the Activision wireless guitar (white one, I think it's red octane) . I found the same workaround mentioned above, I plug in a standard dual shock, start esr direct and then swap the wireless receiver back in. The games work from there.

anyone got pes 2008 working?
must be esr bug. the game starts ok, creates savegame, then konami screen shows up, then black....dead.
tried every esr version with no luck.
