    @probert

    And the "DVD full of avis" is in DVDVideo format right? Because if not, there is nothing ESR can do about it . But, to be true, you don't need ESR to use DVDVideo discs in SMS, SMS already supports that (it just reads UDF part, and ESR makes it read ISO part of the disc... that's why SMS without ESR will show on patched disc only DVDV structure, while ESR will make it show the game content itself).

    For detailed tutorial about making faked DVDVideo discs for playback in SMS, look somewhere in the SMS forums (I'm sure I've seen it there).

    @Rasen

    This is most likely an ESR incompatibility. If/when I'll be able to solve the problem depends only on the fact if/when I'll be able to get this game to do some testing. Thanks for report.

    @ffgriever & Rasen:
    The problem of Rasen could also be due to the 'booktype' issue discussed earlier, since he specifically mentions using DVD+R media.

    Best regards: dlanor

    dlanor: Hm...I'm hoping this might be the case, because this is actually my second burned version of Super Robot Wars: Original Generations.

    The first attempt doesn't even get to the multicolor-flickering screens, and this second attempt, which I decided to burn as slow as possible, does.

    So, could you please explain what is this booktyping, and how do I do it? I'm using DVD Decrypter to do the burning.

    Thanks so much.

    There is no need to. Slim PS2s do not require bitsetting (changing book type), they'll work just fine even when the book type is DVD+R. Plus, if you have seen the color flashing, then the media have ben properly recognized (it would stay at black screen waiting for valid media if it wasn't detected). It's true, that burn quality is vital for some games (and for worn out lasers), so this might be the cause as well. But I won't know unless someone else can confirm that (or untill I'll get the SRT:OG game into my hands). It is also possible that the fix that made GT3 (PAL) and SingStar:Latino working will also save this game (it's very rare, but any game could trigger that bug). Anyway, the new version of ESR should be available shortly (unless I'll get the game by then, so I'll try fix it also for r9a release).

    Hi there,

    first of: wow, great software, keep it up!

    I have trying to boot Gran Turismo 4. Using beta 7/8/9 direct the games starts, but then when i need to create a savegame it hangs af 100% saving the game! any ideas?

    i'm using a SCPH-75004 slimline ps2 with memor32, ulaunch 4.12 and the above mentioned esr versions. I have tried with other esr versions like the memcard version, but they don't boot at all.

    thanks for any input

    Sorry I do not have all my info ahndy, but I can confirm that Zombie Hunters 2 is freezing at launch (or maybe looping) in ESR versions 8 and 9. Normally I believe it checks the memory card for a save, and then starts a 50/60hz selector. Others seemed to have reported it freezing at the memory card check, that seems likely. I cna't be sure as I am running it on NTSC equipment and thus cannot read the screen properly until after the 60hz setting is applied.

    I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm using a DVD+R as the media, and using a slim PS2. (Also, a newer game from the same company, Super Robot Wars: OG Gaiden seems to work fine)
    I've just tested Super Robot Taisen/Wars: Original Generations (JAP, SLPS_257.33). It got to the iop reset (flashing screen) in ~1second and worked then just fine. I was able to run both OG and OG2 and it worked just fine.

    I suspect, that your burn is simply very bad (you said it took ~15 seconds before flashing screens). Burn on good quality media and choose burn speed wisely to get highest quality (with different burner+media combos the speed that gives best quality may be different). Anyway, it works just fine with ESR beta r9.

    @geezer78

    I cannot confirm that. For me GT4 works just fine. I can cerate save and then both save manually and autosave. Maybe it's your memory card? Or the rip is bad (assuming it's DVD9->DVD5 rip)? Maybe burn quality is bad (especially for DVD9 discs)?

    What exact version is that?

    @BellaDona004

    Bloody Roar 3 really doesn't work. I nailed the problem and now I'm trying to fix that (it makes iop reset in a way I didn't see in any other game, so it most likely hangs at magenta screen all of the time). It should be easy to fix, but as of yet I don't know if this is the only problem with this game (it also have to be properly CD->DVD converted and patched, as it checks media type).

    Edit: Bloody Roar 3 fixed

    Hi,
    some time ago I had similar problem with some games, I was making a little mistake. So I would ask you: did you patch the backup image before burning it? If yes, try to burn it with ImgBurn at 4x or 8x, but not faster.

    Regards :-)

    Thanks for letting me know! I'm not exactly sure what the best speed is, but if in doubt, is slower the better way to go?
