Different disc patcher and backup running
Different disc patcher and backup running –
11-18-2009,10:43 AM
Hi, I was reading the compatibility thread and noticed some people use mementopatcher and some esr disc patcher.
Toxic is for dual layer, but otherwise I confused , is there a difference in patching Isos between memento and esr patcher.
Also do I need to use some region changer between pal and ntsc? I have seen some sort of changer. My tv can handle both.
Then I have problem. I patched wwe smackdown vs raw 2009 & Motor Storm Artic Edge, with esr disc patcher,
then burned to quality taoy youden dvd-r with dvddecrypter at 4x. I have tried to launch by esr b9, direct off/on.
Direct on it boots to fmcb screen and leaves to it, direct off the esr says detecting, but it just keep on detecting for ever.
I have managed to get Call Of Duty world at war work and nfs most wanted black edition working with direct boot.
My ps2 is v3/v4, I havent checked the srews yet, and its Pal and all the games in this post where pal, except Nfs.
Any advices would be greatly appreciated

No, I don't think so. But I prefer the "ESR Disc Patcher" by ffgriever because I trust him more than some Memento guys I know nothing about, and also because it is so convenient to use. Just launch the program and then drag-drop any ISOs that need patching (or unpatching) onto the small window of the program. That is all...

If your TV can handle it, then there is no need to use any kind of region changer.
An import game from a different PS2 region will boot fine as an ESR disc, regardless of the region of your console. And it will boot exactly as it would in its own region, using the original video mode and game timing.
That is, unless a modchip or some special utility further changes the video mode.
For example, I often use the GSM program to enforce NTSC video mode even for a game that already uses that video mode by default, simply because GSM allows me to center the screen perfectly even in games that have no such centering feature of their own.

Ooops! Sorry, but that's 'not my table'. I've never used either of those games...

The 'direct' variant is the standard one, and should be used at all times except for those few games that demand the 'off' variant.
The 'mcard' variant is only meant for use with homebrew software, so it's not intended for games at all, though you can do that too by starting a game through uLaunchELF.

Managed to get them work, I adjusted the laser. I brought it up 6 "clicks" ( V4 ) and now it works nicelly. But does this use the laser more.
