converted CD game freezes at the titles screen

I'm trying to run a CD based PS2 game (i.e. Summer Heat Beach Volleyball), which I converted to a DVD, following the tutorial.
I already did this with Rez, which is fully working.
By contrast, Summer Heat starts, but freezes at the start screen, which shows a Dolby Sourround logo etc.
Is this game incompatible with ESR? Do you have any suggestions on what I might do to make it run?

Most likely it isn't an ESR problem, but a convert problem.
