im pretty new at this codebreaker and FMCB stuff. Im trying to load a codebreaker and i heard that we are able to redirect where it loads by changing a file name. How do i do this? i saw on another post that you could change to HD_loader.elf to something else and i want to load it to ESR so i could play my back ups. Can anyone help me?

    I am using FMCB 1.8

    Rename esr.elf to boot.elf

    rename cb.elf to esr.elf

when you insert the patch disc cb will launch instead of esr

    after cb loads

go to options and uncheck auto eject

    after you select the game

cb will look for boot.elf but really is esr.elf

now the game will load with codes

if you don't want to play with codes simply run

    ulaunch which is really esr.elf

    hope you undrestand

Why mess things up this way with misnamed files, when there is no need for it ?

Both FMCB and uLE can be used to launch any elf file you want, regardless of its name.
And for both FMCB and uLE you can also edit all menu entries as you please.
So all that confusion with misnamed files is completely unnecessary.
If that's what you are doing on your own MC, you're making things unnecessarily hard.

And what the OP really asked for is just how to make CB launch homebrew instead of a disc.
So all he needed was a link to the original thread on the CB patching, like SoulSlayer posted.

    Best regards: dlanor

Ok... so I'm a complete newb to this stuff. I just patched my cb and I got that CB_launch file... where do I put this stuff so I can use CB with esr? Do I put all the files in boot or the root? Any help is appreciated.

I have my "CB_launch.elf" file stored inside the folder "mc0:/BOOT/" and suggest you do so too. This is the folder used for the standard applications of FMCB, so it makes best sense to use this for a program able to reboot FMCB.

Do I put my CBv93.elf in the same folder? Or with this can I just use my official cb disc and when I go to start game it'll go back to boot screen so I can run esr?

You must of course use a patched CodeBreaker elf to do this. The original disc is useless for this purpose.
Where you store the elf is entirely up to you, as the launch directory does not affect results.

With CB_launch.elf stored as instructed, and using a CodeBreaker elf properly patched to use it, proper usage is as follows:

1: Boot the console via FMCB to some homebrew menu where you can launch CodeBreaker
(Normally this will be either the FMCB menu or the uLE menu.)

2: Launch CodeBreaker and select game and cheats to be used

3: Exit CodeBreaker using its 'Start Game' command and also press 'X' when requested.

4: CodeBreaker then launches "CB_launch.elf", which reboots FMCB, landing you in the same homebrew menu as you used in step 1 above (normally FMCB or uLE).

5: Now start any homebrew game loader you like, such as ESR or OPL. (with cheats active)

Hi guys! Im having trouble with the CB .elf that I downloaded.

Once I select the cheats I want to use and then press X to start, how can you make it load to ESR instead of HDLoader?

Im using CB 9.3.elf HDloader Patched

    Thanks in advance!
