    Hi guys,

I just installed Free McBoot on my memory card a few days ago.

Now, my problem is that ESR just simply won't work.
It does start flashing all of the oh so pretty colors, but after that I just get a black screen.

I made and burned a backup of Clock Tower 3 (PAL) using ImgBurn at 4x speed and patching it with "ESR_disc_patcher_GUI_v0.24a".

My model is a SCPH-70004 (PAL).

    I tried both DVD-R and DVD+R media.

I know that the backups works. I've tested it on another PS2 (SCPH-77004) at my friends place. With the exact same memory card. It just will not work on my PS2.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

What brand of DVDs did you use? Some PS2s (Especially those with older laser systems, or PS2s with worn lasers) can't read cheap DVD discs.

You should use high quality DVD-R discs (Verbatim DVD-R discs with AZO) to reduce laser wear and to prevent such problems from occurring.

And if your disc can be burned up to 16x speed, you should burn them at around 8x-16x (If the speed is too low, the quality of the burn may be affected).

I tried both a cheap brand DVD+R (which worked on my friends SCPH-77004) and a Fujifilm DVD-R..

You could buy a single Verbatim DVD-R with AZO disc to try. Your console might just be unable to read cheap DVD discs.

My SCPH-77006 can read really damaged and cheap discs (Don't try this though), while the SCPH-39001 I used to have (Before I went back for an exchange) couldn't read any of those discs.
