Is this possible? I have Vice City original game and usually load with SM, can't get it to boot with FREE_MCBOOT 1.5, am I doing something wrong? I just tried booting an original PAL game and it worked no problem.

    Any & all help appreciated.

That's not possible and I don't think it will be. But there are four options:

    1. Use swap methods and play it from original disc (but annoying swapping needed) just as you do now.

    2. Create image of your game, patch it with ESR Patcher, burn onto DVD+/-R and use ESR to play it (but you will be playing the burnt game, not the original one).

    3. Install chip and play it as if you have put it into NTSC console.

    4. Use hdl to play it (usba is AFAIK incompatible with this game).

Personally I would go from the fourth, then third, second... and would discard first option (I hate everything that involves swapping).

Yeh, that is what I figured, well will have to stick with swap method for this one, have made copies of it but they never seem to play aswell as the original.

    Thanks anyway.

I think, if you swap the discs without the slide-tool, it should work also.
AFAIK, the ELF does set the region (while execution), or is it only the ELF-Name (that'll be )?

So a short swap from original to original with Swap Magic, but without slide-tool(s) should be enough, because you ( @nemesis01 ) can also change the V-Mode.

Btw.: @ffg: Thought it might probably come, but maybe other project (than 75KB-Loader),...
    Lets see.

The executable doesn't have anything to do with that, nor it's name (well, a little bit, but not to set anything). If you'll simply push eject button and put the import in the tray, then close... the mechacon will reject the media as invalid, thus prohibiting access to it. I didn't spend too much time on it, but altering initialization of cdvd doesn't do anything (you then loose access to all media). I also don't think it is stored somewhere in the eeprom (though, I didn't really check it), that would be simply too lame...

I own some original pressed games from NTSC-U/C region (well, even NTSC-J ones), but right now the only way I play them is hdloader (not really disc based ;P ) or modded console.

Unless you meant signal output modes... but it has nothing to do with the problem.

So it also gets it from the "secure blocks", like the PS2Logo?!

Hm,... I don't know, why "nemesis01" has this probs.
I personally never tested this game and also havent had it in my hands before afaik.
    "Siren 2"?
I only know "Forbidden Siren 2".
    That's a game, I have. ^^
