[Tutorial] Converting CD Games to DVD for ESR use

You can play backups without converting cd games to dvd-v or dvd to dvd-v.
Only you do a dvd-v with big toc and then, last you see dvd-v with the ESR, go out and swap with a backup (cd or dvd) and playing. Test ok with backups of dvd.

When you say 'swap', do you mean swapping discs with normal use of the unmodified Eject button to open the disc tray, or do you mean swapping with modified Eject button or special tool as used for 'SwapMagic' ?

AFAIK using the Eject button normally should cause the mechacon to re-evaluate the disc in tray (when it goes in again), and for a backup on DVD-R without dvd-v format the mechacon should then prevent further reading. But you seem to be saying that it doesn't work that way..., right ?!?

I'll make some tests of this myself...

With special tools (magic keys) in ps2 slim, and others methods with fat. If you put eject ps2 re-check the dvd or cd, without special tools.
This is other method for using your old backups, for exemple.

I think I've found a better method that's more reliable that doesn't require ScanLite.
Make an ISO image with ImgBurn then run UltraIso, open up your newly created ISO click File, Properties, and change it to these settings it'll then change Image: from "PS CD" to "PS DVD" add in a 1.401GB Z.Z dummy file save your new ISO image and then patch it with esrpatch v0.2.

Notice how the LBA of my ImgBurn conversion is wrong but my UltraIso version is now correct :)

I don't get your point kevstah2004, ScanLite is necessary to patch sceCdMode() and sceCdGetDiskType() functions:

And as many said, there is no need to be crazy about LBA, if is the case you can fix the LBA with a dummy file.

I see what you mean, but I don't see much point in using ESR at all then, since cogswap can be done without it too. The big advantage of ESR is that it allows backups to be used without cogswap methods, even though such backups must be memento patched for this to work.

yea know, but could it be cause i use DVD-RW to burn it ?
maybe you can convert it for me ?
