[Novice] ESR Help.

Well, I've properly made a PS2 backup of Vice City. I know it works because it reads the disc and it spins, but the PS2 recongizes it as DVD video, not a PS2 game.

When I try to load up ESR from my USB via ulaunchELF, it flashes some colors but then goes back to ulaunchELF. I have to click it again, I guess, but then it goes to a forever black screen. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

What I have:

• 8 MB MagicGate Memory Card
• PSTwo V12 (Slim)
• ulaunchELF
• 1 GB Maxtor Travel Drive
• Codebreaker V9.0 (To Luanch ulaunchELF)
• SMS (To get to ulaunchELF)

did you install Free MC Boot?

Yes. I installed V1.5 as it says Launch MCBoot on the Browser and Configuration menu, too.

I think, you use the mc-Version.
Try DVD-Direct-ELF, or DVD-Direct-Off-ELF. ;)

Or you can also try to start "PS2Disc" from uLE, after "restarting" uLE (after flashing colors).
It may start your game then.

Alright then. Mind telling me what I have to do to put THAT on my memory card? Or is it the same way as placing the ESR ELF file on the USB?

Just replace the ESR-File on your USB-Device and you should be fine. ;)

Though, I tried the PS2Disc method and I got to a pink screen, that's it. Should I try one of the other files?

Did you try to poweron your PS2 with the patched game in and then use the prcedure, you've used before?
...else just use the Direct-DVD-ELFs. ;)
