I get this all the time:
vBulletin Message
An error has occurred UserName! You must have 30 posts and be a member for 30 days in order to post links. Your current post count is...
Which is stupid, all i'm doing is trying to say: foo dot bar
Which i cannot because any anything .bla is flagged as a URL/URI link! Happens all the time when i want to type a filename and extension.

see you have to be in 30 posts and 30 days of registration this is the way to reduce the spammers .but you can post the link just make a space between any letters

Uh, amp2006, don't take this the wrong way, but did you comprehend what i posted? The point i made was that i was *not* posting links of any kind, and i still get this stupid error, the problem is the website software programming... thank you, but have you got it now?
I also do not think i can use the ampersand in a post, now that's even more stupid, how did this forum software get released!? Or your own forum's smilies!!

this forum was modified in order to fight against spammers. Just put spaces between the dot when you insert it with no space before two words. Don't worry about the small stuff, you eventually will overpass the newbie status and then not have to deal with these issues.
I rather have less spam.. so I appreciate the work that has been done. though I feel for the noobs, but I think they should be smart enough to figure it out on their own. If not, then I think they shouldn't even belong in a "technical/hack/mod" site such as this.
PS3: Slim 320GB / CFW KMEAW 3.55 / multiMAN v04.xx.xx / blackb0x FTP Server v1.2 3.55 w/ FlashFXP 4.2.x
PS2: SLIM & PHAT / FreeMcBOOT w/ESR & OPL 9-r651 / SMS w/PSClient v1.3.1

It's one thing to detect and prevent real http (and other protocol) links, but to interfere with normal use of the language this way is absurd, especially in a forum like this where it's necessary to mention files and their proper use of filename extensions in a large portion of all posts made.
I never noticed any of these changed site rules for 'noob' users myself, since they were never applied to me.
But if it's as bad as I've started to become aware of (not just for this instance), then it seems hard for new members to communicate at all.
