Stupid filters

I know that punkass spammers have created a need for link filters. I know that noobs have created a need for limitations on PM's. What I don't understand is why nearly every post I try to make gives me a link error. I am trying to use as little punctuation as possible here so this get's posted. I was thinking about adding to the scene, but if I have to spam for 30 posts, it's a little disheartening. I would like to add what I can, but the filters won't let me. WTF... That has no question mark because I every time I type one here, it's a link.

Feel free to tell me what the filter rules are. Thanks in advance.

So, we take it, you have not read the rules. There is a 30/30 limitation implemented, and since you have just joined up, you cannot post links or PM, unless you have 30 posts and been a member fr 30 days. That is the reason why you cannot post links, and such.

To add to what TitanTX was saying. If you are a new member and want to add something... may it be news or anything news worthy... i.e. a hack, then leave a post in the "Member News Submissions" area and we will look into it and give you credit. Sorry for the inconvenience but the spamming was a major headache for all before this was implemented.

You both seemed to miss that I am not trying to post a link, I am trying to post about partitions that include the plus sign and maybe a little C code. The filter won't let me port the info properly, as it detects a plus sign as part of a link. I think it even does this with the equal sign. I can't post something properly, if I can't use those symbols...

What I am saying is that I can't post properly formatted C code here, but I could use various ways to get around link detection. I don't want to post links, I want to post code.

EDIT: Thank you for the quick replies, BTW.
EDIT2: Although I am not against it, I am not here to make friends. I am here to learn to program the PS2 and make any software I can get the source to better if possible. I am not here to contribute friendly conversation, but instead code. I don't mean to sound cold, just concise.

"stupid" filters as that's most of what it filters out, just jump into a topic you like or welcome people in the intro section as you have enough days (30) you just need the posts (30)

This is definitely something that we had to implement in order to cut back on spamming. Like bitsbubba was saying if you get into a few threads and make a few more posts you will be at the 30 posts in no time and will not have any of these issues once you reach that threshold

I think they have a similar system on xbox scene, but I didn't code back then.

Now that I am trying to get into coding, the filter catches it as a link. I was just wondering if there was a way to change the filter.

I guess I'm not too worried about it, as I have a tough time with REGEX in php and perl, so I can't reasonably expect change overnight.

Hey nodots. A few more follow up posts and you will be at the 30 post threshold and this won't be an issue. If there is something you really want to post right away you can get it to a mod and they can get it posted for you.

I just was hoping that the filter could be changed for stuff like boot-DOT-elf. I am doing other stuff, instead of trying to post code or exact descriptions of usage. Just imagine my frustration when I attempted a 4 paragraph post, just to be denied - and no links present.

I am patient though. Thank you for your patience, time, and hearing me out.
