Its in the news area for a reason, not the general 'discussion' subforum. If the info I'm looking for isn't in the first post, then chances are it will be answered in a discussion subforum.
80GB MGS4 PS3 Fat w/ 750GB upgraded HDD.
The post rating system would allow users to vote up informative posts and view the most relevant info. It would not delete anything.
Would those posts then move to the front of the thread, or would there be a search function for finding them in the thread?
how come on the first post of the waininkoko cfw thread it says that it has been bricking alot of ps3's but then doesnt go into detail at all ,i thought i heard somewhere else that it was discovered that it only bricks the 256k nand modes
so did they fix that issue and now it works on all models??
stuff like that should be updated on the first post dont you think??
p.s. also looks like its time to upgrade you server AGAIN

I am glad they close the threads after half the garbage posts people make that usually get way off topic.
So if anyone is too blame its the newbs that can't make decent adult posts in a forum.
Maybe learn to research a bit. If you read something in the news, then further up your knowledge by researching. The info will have been posted somewhere, either on site or by your best friend "Google"

This area is for SUGGESTIONS, not criticisms. Unless you have something constructive to add, don't post.

That might lighten the server load quite a bit. I'll start with you.
Several mentions were made in this thread regarding options for resolving the clutter/mess that leads to the threads being locked. I would like to suggest such a method, although it may be that you (mods/admins/sysop) have already thought of it.
-relies mainly on users, as with a "rating" system
-offences could be counted, and punishable
-requires few modifications to existing code, instead of creating a lot of new code
The Gist: Add a property to new posts which could mark it specifically as On-Topic Feedback. Example, "this binary bricked my console, here are the details", or "tested game X on model X, version X, working OK ". Here's a quick 4-frame mockup showing one of the quicker ways this could be implemented:
More details: An existing property could be repurposed, in this example the post's icon. So in pseudo-code, when drawing the page: IF iconid = 999 THEN bgcolor=green. Add a checkbox to the search page, allowing only results with iconid 999. Add a checkmark on the thread pages which allows displaying only posts with iconid 999. Done.
If new database columns can easily be added or a second one could be repurposed, spam functionality could be added with a special "Report this Post as Bad Feedback" link and some more (pseudo)-code: IF iconid = 999 and reportBadFeedback > 4 THEN iconid = 0 (and temporary ban? ).
Really? No opinion at all from anyone?
That would be great!
