I did not intend for my post to come off as if I was a pirate. I do in fact have both games legally purchased on my non jailbroken ps3. What I was trying to accomplish was a way to get the games on my other ps3 for the kids to play (sorry don't like them touching my stuff). I was only testing to see if I could get it to work before I delved into figuring out how to do it with my legal purchases (I'm a noob) and just wanted to know if I was missing a simple step. I did not think it would be a problem as I have seen many posts about duplex and similar questions. Apologies for breaking any rules.

It's allowed to talk about Duplex disc patches because you can and should be using them on your legally purchased games. The PSN releases is different because if you actually bought the game from PSN then you shouldn't need the patch - hence the piracy issue.

It's alright man. It's a common mistake

Edit: for your legally purchased games you can do a data transfer or you can log in to your account on their PS3 and download and play from there.
