This site's Forum Search is extremely handicapped, why would i want to wait *any* amount of time when searching, especially when it results in 0 finds??? (Which it does far too often).

BTW, Searching Forums results in far less creation of repetitive posts, especially for simple answers, who the heck wants quantity over quality? So if it exists, then let us search and *FIND* it, quickly.

I never have much a problem searching. Sure, some terms come up with zero results, but I just come up with some other term, and ALWAYS find what I am looking for. If that still does not work, remember, you can always go to google and type in your search there, followed by PSX-SCENE and that may give you the results you are looking for.

At amp2006, maybe you should edit out your stupid insults, i can post what i experience, and what i'm trying to point out is the imposed time delay for doing searches is beyond very annoying and i prefer (like probably some others) to *not* use this forum's search more than once due to waiting.

At tthousand, yes i do have to use google's search to get anything useful out of this forum's vast depths.

This forums search has failed the implementation of quoted string searches ("this and that") for me, i have quoted string from posts and not even received the quoted thread back in a search.

And i still have not found how to get anything back in results but a thread itself, ideally i would want the post# *in* the thread(s) returned.

I hardly ever use the forum's search function. Yes, during high traffic time periods it does get a bit congested.

Try this tip, it works great for this forum as well as other sites:

    1. open Google search bar on your browser or go to Google
    2. Let say I am looking for trueblue updates
    3. in the Google search bar I type in:
      Code:
      trueblue updates site:psx-scene.com
    4. I think this is more reliable: give it a try.
    5. in Google you can also click on the left menu bar and click on "Show Search Tools" and then select the date according to how recent you want the information to be. (i.e past hour ago, 1 day ago, and etc).

    I hope that helps.

Ever hear the term you catch more flies with honey than vinegar? When you start your "request for assistance" with an attitude, expect to get some attitude back.

Yes, everything is indexed in google, which has a much more powerful search algorithm than we could hope to ever implement on a simple forum such as this.

Unfortunately, we use a software called vBulletin for this community, and are limited by its functionality. You can find their website at http://www.vbulletin.com if you would like to tender some constructive criticism.

In the advanced search screen, you can choose to search whole threads, or individual posts.
