403 ERROR

I too have issues with page loading, but i assumed it was my PC/ISP/web browser as the cause.

When i first come here, it takes a bit longer before i can see the content. The Ads load first, then after a sec or two the content displays. When i click on a link to view another page, it will sometimes "freeze" with only the Ads displaying and i have to [Esc] and refresh the page, then try the link again and it will then open the page.

I have my browser set to clear the cache after it is closed each time, so i assumed it was the browser having to cache the content each time a new session is started, but i dont have this issue anywhere else.

I use Opera, but i'll try other browsers to see if it is indeed an issue with the site or my choice in PC/ISP/Browser. :p

Happened to me to (firefox), I just deleted the offline data and it started working again.

Those issues are normally from one type of ad that gets grabbed from google adsense or adbrite, it is long flash load, and just holds up the whole page until it is finished.

I looking at a way to have all the silly ads (which are needed to cover the terabytes of bandwidth that psx-scene eats up everyday) to load after the page loads, so it will not cause any slowdown.

That should be done in a few days or less.

Unfortunately, that proxy seems to be a transparent proxy that all connections hosted by my ISP will go through (I doubt that it can be bypassed/disabled so easily). :(

Even if it can be bypassed by adjusting the contract the contract holder has with the ISP, I can't do that as I'm not the owner of the Internet connection here (My father owns it).

I think that I had bypassed it before though - by using a different port (E.g. Using SSL/port 443 with ISOhunt and Hongfire, and port 800 with Megaupload).

No hurry, I've gotten used to it, as it isnt really an issue of concern.

And I dont mind the ads......they give the pages 'character', the place would be "naked" without them. :p
