Ok, its been a looooong time since ive been into the psp scene(first one was an original 1.5 jap which i upgraded to 3.6ofw and sold) and just picked up a psp from a mate with a stack of games for $50AU and got no IDEA where to start. Its 1002 with 6.30 firmware. Basically all i want to do is play some psp and ps1 games from the memory stick, not to interested in emulation or anything like that. Could somebody point me in the right direction?

Well to start off with you can use CFW upto 6.39. try out 6.39 PRO as that is the best one out there with a built in ISO driver. You have to be on 6.39 OFW first, not 6.60(latest firmware). 6.39 PRO-b8 has a new ISO driver ad can play PS1 games

Ok, i found a big noob back and guide and installed 6.39 me-8(opinions? is it any good?). So far ive managed to get a few emu's working while i wait for my psp games to DL. I also tried using psxtopsp to get a few of my ps1 games going and not a single one worked
All show up in the menu, when i load them it sits of a black screen with the MS stick indiactor flashing for maybe....10-15 seconds then nothing
Ideas?
EDIT : just checked my my mem stick and there was a folder with a whole lot of random shit with a file size of 50GB......my stick is only 4GB...........is the stick faulty?

Do a format of your memory stick, and if 6.39 ME is giving you an issue why not try the PRO CFW its known to have great compatibility.
