I think you guys are way to hard on MS...
I mean like...Why would they even bother to make backwards compaitability to XBox 1? They got like 3 good games...What's the point?

yeh xbox doesent have much of anything i have a modded one with 120 gig and i feel like i have wasted my money. That my ps2 and my pc is all i need. The only reason havent done sold it is because of halo2 but im really thinking about it since m$ bullshit with pushing titles back 8 times is starting to make my mind up like FABLE/HALO2/NINJA GADIN/ it wouldent suprize me if halo 2 becomes a launch title for xbox next thats what it is looking like too me their just eazing it back ever year hell they plain on putting xbox 2 out in 2005 all its going to take is one more push back and their you will have the game that will help sale xbox next. i'am reallying thinking about selling my system!!!
Yeah, I don't think X-Box is that great. Wonderful, it boots EMU's and XBMC, who gives. My PC does all that 2x's as good. And my PS2 runs most of those EMU's and runs a REAL version of Linux actually RELEASED by Sony (which I have, and its very nice for a little 333 mhz emotion engine with 32 MB of RAM). As for the games, all X-Box has is any Techmo games (since they switched to X-Box now), Halo, and X-Box Live (and I don't gotta pay for PS2 Online, and I get a FREE 40 GB PS2 HDD this March, much bigger than the X-Box one). So who gets the better deal? I say PS2 users.
I like the xbox, I want one...so many less problems then the PS2, my ps2 doesn't even boot half of the crap I throw at it. It's VERY ANNOYING![]()

because with software mod i CAN with my xbox.
and i think that makes my xbox better.
btw...have to watched a divx/avi movie on your big screen TV without a wire from your pc to the TV? because xbox give you all that for free(no need for a TV out video card)

You guys r forgetting one very very important feature on the xbox that the ps2 does not have "XBOX REFLECTS BULLETS"

In terms of buying a console, the Xbox is the most worth it out of the three. From the PC view, you are buying a compact PC for 50% cheaper (even though you can buy better ones now for the same price). Emulators and media player are just extra fun things on an Xbox that many PS2 people would like. I know the PS2 media player skips a little and the emulators aren't full speed yet as I own a PS2 w/ a DMS3 2.0. Linux? Blah who cares about Linux. Then again, if you want something to do all of that stuff PERFECTLY, just buy a laptop even though the Xbox beats the PS2 here.
But with a system that comes with the HDD and BBA, I dunno if you can compare the online capabilities. You still pay $30 for the PS2 BBA as I did, then a bit more for the HDD with FFXI, and for a headset (if you don't get it with SOCOM). Only $50 for a year of Live (with headset and games) or get a free card for 3 months free. After sad Auto Modellista, mediocre SOCOM, typical Madden, and blah Everquest, I never really liked the PS2 Online system. Of course, GT4, FFXI, and Resident Evil could change that. The experience just sucked on the PS2. I use my Xbox more than my PS2 now because of R6-3, Top Spin, SGTO and KotOR with TFLO, Ninja Gaiden, Tenchu, etc coming soon. Live is also worldwide and well setup.
Offline games are different though. As far as I'm concerned the only good stuff on PS2 are RPGs now which is the Xbox's weakpoint (all boils down to this). Everything else that is good is shared between the 3 consoles anyways so who cares (just different graphics). Only PS2 only games I'm anticipating right now are Castlevania, MGS3, RE, the next Wild Arms, and Final Fantasy XII. As for backwards compatibility, dunno, I never used my PS2 to play PS1 games since my DVD drive hated my old burns or crashed out of a few with slight scratches. Not to mention having to use an old PS1 memory card (why was there no backwards compatibility for MagicGate). ePSXe or PCSX on Xbox can read images so that is a plus, but I'd still rather use my PS1.
The Xbox Next could be a formidable challenge once sequels start dying off for the PS2 and GC (take Mega Man for example). RPGs are slowly losing steam and SquareEnix knows it. Sports are the same every year with different rosters. Times are changing. As for me, I want both to be great as they currently are. I'm not a cheapa$$ like some people.![]()

sapitoloco: I heard about that! That's soooo funny!
anyway, whatever floats your boat, buy it.I don't like XBOXs much, but that doesn't mean no one else can...
And I know someone will respond with a "yes it does"... Ah... how I love PS2Newz!![]()
