Just caught a news blurb about a world "competition" to hack corporate sites this Sunday. Though you may not be personally attacked, your system or IP could unwillingly be involved in this mayhem. DOS attacks are the worst offenders, and hardest to trace since they bounce off other peoples IP's. Everyone check for updates to your firewalls and V-Scanners. If you are in the habit of posting standalones for your clans to game on, you might want to shut them down this weekend so your generosity with your bandwidth doesn't get abused by these hacks. It's also a good idea to turn off your routers, hubs, modems when your system is down. These things keep your IP alive even when you are not online or your system is shutdown--they can still snoop your IP and have it on hand to use.
