WHAT IS UP with the scene lately?

well, it seems as if the ps2 scene is just completely stopped, nothing is happening at all, and the only people i think are trying to help it are ownz! what is up with it?
the latest news post on this site is concerning the seXbox for crying out loud!

First of all the development side of PS2 IMO is nearly completely finished. The main objective has been acheived, nothing much is gonna happen now.
Also recent happenings and some members leaving doesnt help the matter I dont think.

i would still like to see a good commercial-game ps2 emulator come out on pc

better web browser, chip code that works and is free like the evox, and executer for xbox, then a chip that will flash upgrade fully, even to add version support, no solder no swap chips

, homebrew games, hacking the HD stuff, new consoles with new features to play with....the work will never be done

i agree id like to see a no solder no swap chip that doesnt f00k up the ps2, or like a 2 wire chip or something...

Yeah their new flash games on their page is really helping the scene!

Lets be straight here. What are they doing for the scene? The HDD stuff? It's warez, it has no use for anyone in that state. Even if they were able to find a way to legally formatt any HDD right now they would fail at executing any binaries from it. after the 18000 unit they began to bundle the ps2 HDD driver inside of the bios. The driver prevents any primary executables from the drive itself. This means that if they want games running from HDD they would have to modify the bios on the fly. Their fliptops certainly couldn't do this.

therefore with that said, I would like to see a no swap mod chip with minimal amount of wires that is able to do everything the dms3 is able to do + be able to put and HDD in my ps2 and run games from it and also perhaps a mod for the main ps2 browser? ofcouse.... easier said than done

i just want some company to add a patch to change the ps2 logo on retail games as well....it's gotta be possible

ANYTHING is possable(with enof money and desire)
just is it worth the time/effort for so little payoff
