What PS3 Hard Drive Size are you using? Internal? External? Opinions welcome

Just wondering what people are using for their homebrew needs. I removed my internal drive and put in a scorpio blue 1tb internal drive. The drive was too thick to fit in the normal slot and slide in. So I took the ps3 apart and modded the harddrive case so the drive would fit then bolted down and put ps3 back together. The drive will not slide out now but not like I'm going to be replacing it any time soon. The 1tb alows for several backups without the worry of running out of drive space for movies, music etc.

Also the reason I am using an internal drive vs an external is that I had several of my backups that would freeze and lockup when playing from external. Once moved to internal I have never had an issue.

So my question is out of curiosity, what are others using?

Add pole to see who prefers internal drive vs external drive. I personally had issues with freezing on ninja gaiden at save point when running on external.

I Have an External Drive....nd its better than internal...nd i have heard that few games works only on external thats why i bought it
and about modding i dnt wanna brick my ps3
but i ahve started modding ps3 controller
i am working on led moddin ps3's controller

its pretty fun bt tough work

dude...make this into a poll, it will be much better, and for the query...

I used to use my 80gb ipod as an external...ikr! lol :P.....now i used a 500gb seagate internal hdd, and it works flawlessly.

Wanted a 1tb but knew it wouldn't fit without surgery (not to mention a very nice sale price on the Seagate

).
I have several 1tb and a couple 2tb externals sitting at my house. I will probably dedicate one of them for PS3 use when I get off the road trip I'm on.

Still a bit unsure if I want to hack up the PS3 (not a warranty or brick issue). I just like the idea of being able to swap drives "on a whim" if I want.

Internal 500GB. External 320GB but some of this is also being used by my JTAG 360.

320 Int. / 500 Ext.
I use the internal only for games that needs to be splitted. The external is used for the rest..

One can never have tooooo much space available.

Actually, when I find them on a good sale I buy 1 or 2.

Nobody in my family is ever in need of a hard drive for very long.
