Samsung 42" plasma (wife is trying to get me to bust off a 60 or larger for the entertainment room).
Harman/Kardon AVR. That thing was a bear to set up. Once it was set up properly, the sound is beautiful.
Infinity TSS-1200 speaker system.
Sony blu-ray player (primarily used for Netflix). It rarely sees a disc in it.
Great sound can be had from a Denon and I was quite impressed when listening to some of them. Much easier than H/K to set up also. I was quite tempted to go with Denon, but I was willing to sacrifice a few hours to get the sound right with the H/K because it is a wonderful looking piece of equipment.
I always thought I wanted Bose for the speakers.
They have a very nice sound when used strictly for movies.
I listen to a lot of music and found Bose to be somewhat "thin" sounding. Just didn't have a full sound spectrum.
The Infinity system fits the bill for both, movies and music.
My dream is to have a theater room (one of the main considerations while the wife and I are looking for our next house) large enough to be able to handle a couple of Martin Logan electrostatic speakers.
Quite expensive (to say the least) with the least expensive being $5,000 U.S. for a pair of those bad boys.
When set up properly..........NOTHING beats the sound of electrostatic speakers coupled with a high end sub and amplifier/tuner. Full spectrum of sound and nothing is left out.
I would much rather go to my grave not needing my gun, than go there wishing I had it.
