Dude sony Receivers suck. I would not buy one If I was paid to. They seem to shit out after about 2-3 years. I like Aiwa I have had my Receiver for about 4 years now and I love it. So I would go with Aiwa or pioneer. Just my two cents.

I agree , sony recievers do suck, unless you get the high end stuff. I have this pioneer, and it rocks, 100 watts x6 ,and has preout jacks to hook up amps !!! , also its 7.1 ready. I would seriously check it out .

Any of the sony es series are pretty good, highest end would be denon.

I wouldn't get that one, i had a sony str- series and was not happy with it, i got a low hiss out of the speakers at low volume. I would go with the pioneer , http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...e=piovsxd811ss

you'll save a few bucks , just remember , the pioneer is 7.1 ready for future music and movies.

Denons are pretty nice. I have an older AVR-65 unit...it still rivals some of the better Sony and Yamaha receivers that I've heard. Plus, I only payed $70 (instead of $699) for it (brand new) from Sears because of an inventory tracking problem....

(No, it wasn't stolen, they just thought that they didn't have any in stock, and have a stupid policy of lowering the price to almost nothing to get rid of them in any of the stores that still have them left over)
