stay away from st louis is all i can say.....friendly people, but violent.

NYC has a whole bunch of assholes, my uncle lives there, don't be surprised if the people constantly butt to get in front of you, its a typical new york attitude. However lots of great food and places to visit in NYC, lots of different culture things. If you overlook the occassional rudeness its a great place to visit, if you get the chance go to Florida and visit the Tampa Bay/Clearwater area, beautiful beautiful place, that and Chicago are my two most favorite places in the US

if possible check out coney island, dont go to grenwhich village after 9pm if you are homophobe (the freaks come out at night :P)
check out washington square park, but if youre the type of guy who likes to smoke, dont listen to the dealers there. they dont have everything you want and tend to give oregano in bags.

and trumpetguyscw, when i visted tampa it was a dump, all i saw were XXX joints and homeless people.

EDIT: i know were you can spend all those extra quarters, go to the 25 cent peep show world in times square, right by the bus station.

Be advised though, you are from the UK correct? Just keep an open mind bud. Things are quite different here in the US. (Its alot of fun though) I have been to the UK several times (US Navy) and that was quite a different experience for me. Just dont freak out at the side of the road we drive on.

I know I almost shit myself in the back of a cab in the UK cause I kept thinking we were going to have a head on collision! It took some getting used to (which I never did) but it was a blast nonetheless. Im actually looking forward to going back soon!

Only a couple of days to go but what concerns me now is all major uk airports are on full alert for terroist/iraq and all the shit thats going on right now. Only today a Columbian was arrested trying to get on a plane heading for the us with a load of hand grenades taped to himself. Whats it like in the us at the moment i so on the news that in New York & Washington everyone is buying bottled water, plastic sheeting and etc in case of an attack is this all true or is it the media/press hyping things up.
