Man am I pissed... (Well not really) I FINALLY got a (non backup) copy of Windows XP Pro on my machine (and all is well) AND M$ sent me a copy of Office 2003 as well. (Nice pgm BTW) So life is peachy. Well, it appears that I was hit by something virus wise. It all started when my realtime virus protection wouldnt enable on startup (and will NOT restart manually either) No biggie. Small inconvenience... I ran a virus scan - nothing to report... Well, now XP is telling me that I have 2 days to activate. You try to activate and the icon goes away but it pops back up in about 15 minutes. (Heres the kicker) I tried to 'activate' manually through the DOS prompt and it tells me that 'The file doesnt exist' (Cute... Really ****ing cute) So... Im off to wipe my HDD and start over again. A small pain in the ass, but oh well. (**** MiRc LOL - Thats where it came from im thinking) I think the worst part of it all is I have to call M$ to reactivate WinXP and my copy of Office 2K3. *Sigh* Been there done that (and its a small pain in the ass)
Try running an online virus scan... I had a virus on my old Win98 machine, and realtime didn't get anything, but the online one cleared it right up.
you use mIRC? yet you don't visit it us on efnet on #ps2newz....
lol, since it's a legit copy, call m$ and bitch at them :D it's their problem now
