You should be fine. I powered a 6800 ultra with a 300w and it says a minimum of 400w is needed. if you have a good power supply (antec, thermaltake, etc) you should be fine. If you notice reboots, crashing, then your power supply might not be up to par for the requirements.
hey snake i talk to a few friends of mine that r really in to puter moding and they all say the same thing. get AT LEAST a 350. some good brands they said was antec, enermax, thermaltake, coolmax and ultra. i dont know to much myself i know laptops but not desktops. so there is a good simply answer.

Just give it a try and if you get reboots, crashing and other abnormal activity like kaoishade said, then go and get a new PSU. The worst case scenario is that you won't even make it to Windows; I had a similar problem with an older PC where I tried to add another 7200 RPM hard drive and it would crash right after log on. Turned out the PSU was on its last couple of watts trying to power the entire system.
I recommend the FSP 530w PSU:

It's cheap and it can power a ton of devices; I have the following hooked up to it:
4x 120MM fans
1x 80mm fan
2x 92mm fans
GeForce 6800GT
WD Raptor 74GB (10K RPM so you know it eats juice for breakfast)
Hitachi 160GB 7200RPM SATA HD
Lite-On DVD drive
Lite-On DVD-RW drive
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard
Cheapo TV Tuner
I occasionally hook up my 200GB IDE HD from my PS2 to upload games to it via WinHIIP and the PSU has no trouble providing all of these components the power they need.
$78 is cheap?

For that kinda of quality, yes, yes it is. I need to get one myself.. I think mines goin on its last leg.
$78 is a great price for a quality PSU. You should see the PC Power and Cooling PSUs, they sell for $150 and up.
u gotta be careful with some of these psu's
some of them will not actually deliver the power they claim (they must work it out differently, like pmpo over RMS)
also some do not protect ure equipment so well (well this is what ive herd)
Also
dont u think that many fans is excessive, and does this thing sound like a f*in space shuttle !!!Originally Posted by Toma

FSP is known to produce quality budget PSUs unlike Allied or Deer, so don't worry too much there.
Maybe I do have too much fans, but it does keep everything cool. And yes, it sounds like a space shuttle; it can be heard with the door closed and it's very hard to hear common sounds over the noise (phone ringing, door knocking, etc). Needless to say, I don't leave it on all night.![]()
Since it moves so much air, I have to clean the dust filters almost every week or else they'd be clogged with dust.
Man, my computer is dead silent. There are absolutely no fans in there at all.
I have an Antec phantom power supply, and a mobile processor, so only a heat sink is necessary. Only sound it makes is the light noise of my serial ata hard drive.
