Ugly Case Contest Prize Winners?
So, has anyone heard anything about their prize? I don't mean to complain, but nobody that I've conversed with has received their case yet, and we're going on 4 weeks since the contest ended.
The machine that I was going to put my case on ended up getting a custom made case put on it because I couldn't wait any longer - gave it to my nephew so that he'd quit hanging out at my place!
I've already modded up another box and am awaiting the case to complete it, but at this point, I'm wondering if I should go ahead and order one. I'm one of those guys that can't stand to have projects sitting around half done, and this one's buggin me!
So whats up guys? Anybody hear anything yet?

<G>, I do appreciate your work and your willingness to discuss whatever needs to be discussed without taking it personally!
I would just like to add that I am glad to have won a prize. However, given the circumstances, this has definitely not lived up to the expectation of a prize. Normally one is glad to receive something for free. However, this case has basically "Won" many the right of frustration and distrust, and have yet to see if anything else comes. This "prize" doesn't seem like much of a prize now that everyone has paid for it with their constant doubts, constant changes in their plans, etc. Basically, I won't use my prize now because I've had to move on to other projects - a month is WAY too long to wait for something whether its free or not. I've had the use for the case twice now, and made other arrangements (AFTER patiently waiting and fudging plans) so that I could get my projects out of the way.
I'm sure another need will arise when I will use my case. However, I have serious doubts that I'll even see the case since I'll be long sinced moved into my new home before it is even shipped. It's not like it takes a significant effort to ship something that should have already been ready to ship before the contest started (It's a FRIGGIN BOX! And their whole business is built on the idea that the things that they sell are going to be shipped!). I guess I'm a little cynicle since I see the "family emergency", "illness", "had to leave town unexpectedly" excuse ALL the time from people who decide that their time would be better spent doing something other than living up to their previous committments.
One more note on the concept of receiving something for "free". These prizes were not free. Efforts went into taking pictures and descibing rather embarrassing cases for the intertainment of members, therefore promoting views and discussions relevant to the case manufacturer. The persons who entered into the contests & the people that they told about the contest who came here to all paid for those "prizes" through their actions - that's what advertising is all about. Those "prizes" were exchanged for advertising, and thusly the resulting actions.
This is NOT a complaint, nor any sense of dissatisfaction with how you've personally handled things. You've done all that can be expected from a person in your position. However, I would tend to agree with anyone who would warn against dealing with that particular vendor in the future.
Thanks!
