two sound cards
hello everyone, i have a 4.1 speaker system and a 2.1 speaker system, i have a sound blaster audigy sound card, a c-media integrated sound card, and a sound blaster live (if it'll work i can use that), the 4.1 speaker set takes up 2 of the output ports on my sound card and i want to hook up the 2.1 speaker set too, does anyone know if two sound cards will work at the same time and play the sounds through all the speakers? is there some kind of software to run multiple sound cards or something. thanks in advance
or get a mini jack Y splitter
yeah, i thought about that, but i wont get to any store for a while and i was just looking for a quick way since i have multiple sound cards thanks though
i have an OpTi 16 ISA Audio Card + Some Yamaha PCI Audio Card
No, that won't work. You'll run into a few problems with having two soundcards installed.
One will be that they'll want to exist on the same IRQ, which isn't such a big deal, really.
The other problem is that your software will only map to one hardware device at a time. You could use one soundcard for recording, and another for output, but not for outputting at the same time.
Your best bet is to just get the adapter mentioned above or just use one set of speakers.
thanks, i'll get one then
