Stupid question

I know this isnt a dating board but i saw there was a lot of help given to primenal (sp*?) on his love thread so my question is: how do you get over a relationship gone bad?

I was dating this girl for a while and things got pretty serious. We got in a couple arguments and things just werent working out, so we ended the relationship. She wants to be "close friends" still but i think that will just bring me pain, so how do you make that transition and be friends with a girl you had strong feelings for? And how do you get over a girl you had strong feelings for? Or even what should you not do to get over a serious relationship? (what doesnt work)

Im on probation so i cant really drink or do any drugs, so thats out of the question, i have to deal with it on my own, but the last time a releationship this intense went bad i didnt date for about 2 years. Theres got to be a quicker way to deal with it, so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Im sorry if this sounds like a stupid post, but if i get one good reply that helps me out of 20 flame posts, its worth it to me.

drugs/boozes is not the way to go anyway
i was dating a girl for 4 years or so and when we broke up i was bumbed for a few weeks the fastest way to get out of it is find someone new does not need to be someone to date just new friends or something to keep you busy

A fresh start by moving to a new area is one option. However if you are on probation, you probably can't move outside the Dallas FW area.
