Some criticism

Okay here we go, I don't like some of the changes I just noticed.
First: The news board was used for REAL news, like... stuff I actually give a shit about. scene news. Sorry, but I don't give a shit about orb (should be marked as advertisment, lol, at least post a fake review, srsly) or if you fixed the attachment thing, that's just a minor bug.
I have to admit I don't participate in the forums much, but I had it in my RSS and visited the page frequently.
Also why was this (Xia,guichi,founders) thread closed? No I'm not this guy, but I just saw it when I wanted to post this.

Srsly? posting the former admins name gets you your thread closed?

I know you're a company and things are going to run a bit different now, but you start pissing your users off. And in the end the users basically are what you bough.
Without them, the template, domain, database is useless.

We'll see if this thread gets closed to (at least try to provide a reason please).

WHAT? Show me some proof, rather than spreading FUD and outright lies. There's a difference between "criticism" and "flaming/insulting"

I love how the claim is right now that if you "say anything bad you get banned, lololol" - that is not only utterly inaccurate, it is also inflammatory slander, otherwise known as trolling. Deliberately posting inflammatory remarks in order to illicit a response; trolling. Trolling on this, or any other respected site, is grounds for removal. We don't want your disruptive influences and nonsense posts. It only serves to cause a bad atmosphere and gives the site a bad name. Go and spit in Pirate and Gregory's faces - go troll their site - and see how long it takes before they ban your ass, or at the very least; delete your thread.


... oh and notice how this thread HASN'T been closed? It most certainly won't be closed by me, not if people have a mature and adult discussion. Mud-slinging, insults - however veiled, attacks - personal or otherwise, will be met with thread closure. Talk like adults, not like self-entitled little brats, and you'll find the response to much more reciprocal.

If you look at the original good bye thread to Xianiax and Gary, you will see some tried to turn it into a slag fest against not just the new guys but also against Xianiax and Gary. I can only guess that it was a preemptive strike to close the thread you reference, but then I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and willing to see what this site becomes. I mentioned the founders in some of my posts and was not deleted, warned or banned, nor the threads closed.


Of course, we do not want to see the news section become ads. The problem was that other people just wanted to hurl insults about it and not to address the issue of an acceptable way to generate revenue for this site. If you have followed the comments of Gary etc. all along, you will know they have been putting substantial personal funds to keep it going and not much revenue from the ads.

I do know not anything about the people running this site now. We will see what happens.

Perhaps you would be willing to define negative feedback for the sake of the few people on this site who do not know the difference between that and ranting insults. For example, I have had the word "Fa@@ot" shouted at me many many times. I assumed it was a ranting insult meant to intimidate me, you could explain why such statements are not considered negative feedback. Unfortunately, some ignorant people might misconstrue your attempt to provide feedback in order to maintain the quality of this site as an invitation to more flaming.

Heh, psx-scene banned me from there years ago, just because I pointed out a way to optimize the structure of a compatibility chart.

I just did a search for his name in the database and it's not there. Not to say he didn't sign in as another name 3yrs ago. Also, with no info about which thread he's talking about, you can't say if he was saying something inappropriate or what when trying to "help" (Only using quotes in this instance as I don't have any proof of anything other then your quoted post above). So, in other words, take it all with a grain of salt.
