My brother is in Japan right now, and he was thinking of buying a super famicom there, but he wants to know if SNES games work on a super famicom (doesnt mean right out of the box, but either if it works or if theres something you have to do for it to work). Does anyone know if it works.

i never had the snes or famicom but im pretty sure you can use SNES games on the super famicon with a catridge convertor.

also, you may want to file off the side of the cartridge so it fits in.

i say these things from memory, they might not be correct.

well there was a converter that you needed a SNES game and the Famicon game in order for it to work...but that was to play famicon on SNES...so i would assume that there was the same thing for the other way around

the famicon game was ontop of the converter and the SNES game was perpendicular to the converter on the back side....like it made a backward "L" shape

you need a converter to play famicom on nes. for super famicom on snes, you just have to twist off the plastic inside the cartridge bay with plyers (my sig says snes modded to play super famicom) and thats all. well, ill just have to keep looking for the answer to this one. thanks people!
