i see alot of newer phones are coming out with sim cards. from what i understand these sim chips install into your cell phone when you are in a different region they save all your personal settings like phone numbers ring tones and other stuff. my question is i hear there is a sim card reader that is out if you can get this reader can you reprogram the card so you can get free cell phgone minutes or not?

    impossible.
the most you can get is clone another sim card.

during which only one sim can be used at a time.

when receiving in coming calls, the last card that was used will get the ringing.

so what is the true purpose of this card then?
I thought saving 15% on my car insurance was good but having my ps2 modded by N£TM£ÇH was way better!

They save everything like personal settings and call logs, and they're a way of "locking" a phone to one specific provider and plan. No cell phone service provider would be dumb enough to store your minutes on it.

Actually, my old Tracfone did (well, sort of...it didn't have a sim). I didn't try to cheat the system, but when I called in to get more minutes on my phone, there were three seperate times that the operator screwed up and gave me too many minutes. She said there was nothing she could do to take them off, so I got to use them.

But like you said, Tracfone doesn't use a SIM card. And i've heard that it's fairly easy to get caught using the unlimited minutes hack.

I know. I wasn't promoting cell service theft, just saying that not all services are intelligent enough to keep the minutes on their end.

When u dial a call or receive a call.

Ur fone also sends out the following information to the network.
Your phone IMEI(The 15 number id of your phone), your phone model and your handphone number. So it's tracable.

The purpose of cloning a sim is for backup.

If you want free calls then you can clone your friend's sim and use it at your own risk.
To cover up tracing, you can buy some wares to change the IMEI of certain phones but that doesn guarrantee it's safe.
