how do i do it? i wanna share files from my comp so people (I approved) to dl it straight from my comp? kazaa can do it but they have to be on the same supernode and they have to connect to the network to do so. i dont want that, i want them to be able to dl it thru the net. its like them dling files from websites, but i want the website to be ME. is there any programs to do so? and also i wanna password protect my comp so only certain people can gain access to my comp. is there a program that can do that? wit p2p software, a user can only share files when he/she is online. can i do that also? i dont wanna upload my files to the net wen everyone can reach it. i only want them to access my files wen im online, like how kazaa does it. is this possible?

if you dont wanna read wut i put above cuz its too much, then ill try to sum it up. is there a program that can make my computer a password protected server so i can share files with certain people? and will broadband access make a huge difference?

Yup, you'll need to learn alot more about ip addresses and your router to make it work, it's not hard just follow the instructions provided with the FTP software. Try CuteFTP. And broadband will make your transfers really fast. Good luck.

PIMP? YOU? ok if you say so lol. nah, hotline has ad support now and reviews at download.com.com say it has spyware. hey wuts the difference between an ftp client and an ftp server? do i need to have both of them? if i use and ftp server then my comp is the server rite? do i need to combine it wit the client? and if i use the client, i connect to another server that has file storage rite? i have to upload my files to that server rite? is that server free. if i use an ftp client along wit the server, then im the server and i get total control rite? sorry if these are stupid questions, im new to ftp.
