The Scene is Dying
The Scene is Dying –

Before you go ahead and play the 1337 mini mod and reply how you're sick of n00bs complaining, well, **** you. I read that a lot of people that claim the scene is dead and before I thought what most of you probably think: "**** them, they are idiots for updating when they were told not to." Now, I'm starting to see the light. Before you go and act all high and mighty on your 3.55 and tell me how much of an idiot I am for updating, don't waste your time because I'm also on 3.55. I just feel for the people that talk about a 3.56+ cfw and get flamed by our so called "community" for doing so. Now, the scene is dying because of the fact that homebrew and CFW can't expand to all the people outside 3.55. Are all of them idiots for updating? No, just because people are on 3.56+ doesn't necessarily mean they updated "like idiots." People that buy PS3's now[unless you Ebay] are faced with 3.56+ consoles. Are we ****ing n00bs because we ask for CFW? Are we ungrateful assholes because we wish for CFW? If you're a scene whore and immediately jump when you hear 3.60 CFW and call us all idiots for "updating" wake up because that isn't always the case.
tldr: The scene will die if it can't expand outside our little 3.55 circle. It's been what, 6 months since 3.55? Whatever happened to Mathieu's buffer exploit? We hear about all these breakthroughs but there is no real progress mostly because devs feel there is no need for a 3.55 cfw is good enough. The problem with that is what about the people that buy their PS3's two, three months from now with 3.70 ofw? This is what is really hurting the scene.

Saying the scene is dying is like saying there is someting wrong with your baby not being able to talk before it is even a year old.
The scene still has alot to learn, and still alot to master and explore in the worlds of 3.41 and 3.55, and everything below and beyond.
And now with super teams like gitbrew, rebug, and cobra, and even JFW DH, the scene is becoming more alive everyday.
The average person will not see it, but those of us who watch the scene, and know what is being released, do.
No one HAS to do anything, and we are lucky to have this scene, or any scene. People should not be so blasphemous.
I have faith in the developers. But if the developers do not have faith in the users, they are not going to help. Why would they want to?
If you do not like it, leave. There is no reason to try to make others not like it, just because you do not. It is not like you are forced to be here. (I mean the ps3 scene, not this site
)
This whole idea of someone owing you something is what is killing the scene, and making no one want to work with each other.

In before someone says "the devs owe you nothing!!"
Ahaha that shit always cracks me up tbh
Damn asslickers...rofl
Some of the best lessons are learned from past mistakes. The error of the past is the wisdom of the future.

I think the devs owe us respect if they plan on being a part of this scene. But at the same time, I think everyone else on the scene, owes some respect to the devs as well, if not more.

i understand what you say, VOR. I feel the same rage when someone say something like that. I bought my PS3 last month. Buy another ps3? No way. Too expensive in my country ( converting currencies: us$1124 or €783).
BUT The scene isnt dying. Need more cooperation, needs more maturity. One step at a time. But only 3.55? I don't agree. But im not a programmer, so i cant tell u if its easy or hard. I hope everything goes well.
Sorry my bad english.

Threads like this just come from people that are to lazy to do research. Gitbrew has already stated that they have an exploit for newer firmwares and are trying t get the new model PS3 to test it on to see if it works on it. They stated that it is very easy to be patched so they may or may not release it after it is tested on the newer model.

So what you're a glorified n00b because you can bitch in paragraph form? Why don't you do something about the higher firmware hack? The scene won't die, it just took some major blows from Sony. Your post makes you come off like an overeatching spoiled brat. Although, the last few sentances are a bit more level headed. I don't care about CFW. If you want 3.56+ then by all means upgrade. One last thing - lay off the caffeen (or whatever the hell you're on) and chill out. You probably don't remember the GB Mono Scene, Super NES scene, Nintendo 64 scene, PSX scene, PS2 scene. All of these had hiccups with compatibility due to enhancements in security measures being put into place. This is no different.
You want 3.56+ so bad? Then upgrade. Otherwise STFU.
