i agree with <G> the scene is doing fine... In fact its doing better than it was about 2 months ago... Look at all the progress we have made in the ppf area, in DVD9 support... And look at the new apps that have been comming out... PS2MP3 SE 1.2, PS2 OS .3b2. THese are all nice apps... About 6 months ago thier were a lot of things coming out and then they were out. Everyone is at the drawing board right now and that is why things seem slow, Just hang aroung and the cycle will repeat
Well, I guess one reason I don't quite post as much is cause I was heavily into the nomod scene. I was the only mod at Spiv's site, and after that whole scene died, I pretty much stopped contributing to everything.
Whatever, I've had a bottle of Cotes de Rhone, some Macallen, and then some cheap ass beer, I'm gonna go to bed.
there are slow downs but it doesn't mean the same as dead...Ps2 has it's limit too...I mean look at DC...when all them emu and homebrew start coming out...DC was da bomb...then suddenly ps2 can do the same...everyone flock to ps2scene...same thing will happen when ps3 come out....or psp stuff....^_^
Check my bros site...it's simple but get the message across...IMPORT LOVERS...CAR THAT IS...

Yeah he was. Then he sold his PS2, stopped updating the board, I got a decent chip, and the whole mess just sorta fell apart, everybody involved lost interest. Gnie didn't want his kits posted on Spiv's site, etc etc. You know how it is - infighting and kiddies bitching.

A couple of years ago, I would say ~4-5 years ago, when booting games was still a bit of a challenge and DVD burners were not common at all, you had to use what's known as a nomod kit. This was because alot of the CD rips available, either via a "do-it-yourself" kit or the 'net were ripped down to 700 megs (the biggest for a CD-R). This was fine if you had a chip, which a lot of people didn't. The problem was, due to certain limitations, if you used the slidecard/gameshark booting method, you had to knock it even further down to 650 megs. So, Spiv ran a really nice little site where people could talk about/create these nomod kits. There were a couple of really good coders, esp DVDRick and Gnie. But Spiv was actually a really nice guy - he was just some guy who ran the site, it grew and grew beyond what he expected, and then he just sorta pulled the plug on it, I think he lost interest and he has his own personal life.

The scene isn't dead...There's just nothing to chat about. The thing I have no idea about is the fact that people in the ps2 general discussion is always discussing problems with there ps2, and such. Never do you hardly see anybody who discusses games.
Off topic...Nothin to discuss really that's in the news. The only good discussions we ever get on here is political, but that's usually cuz lots of people arguing (such as myself), and the people who don't argue seem to enjoy reading them at least.
