Am I the only one to notice the recent surge in stupid repeated questions? Has the population of new users in this forum doubled in the past few months? I know I've only been a member for a few months myself but even I have noticed the number of questions (of which the answers are readily available via that magic search button) increase recently. Am I the only one to notice this? It's annoying, I now have to search through topics to read something I didn't know or find interesting and useful without reading 'noob question about hdl' or 'noob question about wiping ass'...just had to vent the frustration. I know everyone is here to search for information, the problem is chances are it's already out there either in this forum or google...try them both for 20 minutes before posting maybe that will help...(sorry if i'm stepping on any mods feet)

a better organized structure would help with this.... and a page of tutorials and FAQs would help with this a lot....

I find the search very annoying to use... sometimes it lists just about everything you don't want....

    PS2 v11 exploit w/300GB Maxtor
    PS2 v10 exploit w/80GB Samsung - Network Games
    PS2 v10 exploit w/60GB Samsung - Network Games

I like the FAQ page idea, you could even go so far as to link the tutorials on that page...almost all the info you need can be found somewhere in these forums. I do agree searching can be daunting at times, sometimes a simple rewording of your search brings up what you want but thats 15 minutes after you've already been searching

if you guys want to take the info from the forums and make FAQs, I'm sure the moderators would be happy.

FAQ section might decrease the post of answered questions but it'll still happen since there's always a guy out there who hates to read. Repeated questions don't really bother me. If I read a thread and I feel that it is a too noob of a question (question that has been answered so many times) I just use the back button.

I opened a thread in the Off topic section with this suggestion, but it might not push through. I am thinking of making a thread with some faq (maybe call it FAQ You) and just link the questions themselves to open threads about the subject. I just don't want people to reply to it, making the thread long. Maybe instead of replying, they would just PM me with another FAQ along with the link that would answer the question.

    Sample:
How do I shrink a game?

Would this be OK with the mods? I have the time... for now

I'm sorry <G> I just don't know how you have the patience.

maybe we can all start putting together some FAQ ideas to start a page to try and cut back on some of these repeated questions and just refer people to previous forum posts. (i know many posts already refer to previous posts etc but this might help organize it all into one general reference area)

Few Ideas on FAQ reference topics:
    -identifying PS2 versions
    -hdd compatibility
    -Independence exploit
-good software and what it's used for (WinHIIP, etc)
    -etc

it doesn't matter if we go into peoples brains and put the information in, those threads will never stop, trust me it's the easy way out for them.

and yes, this forum has like 55,000 members...their is going to be some threads like that, I Guess we just have to deal with it.
