Refurbished stuff....

I know that refurbished stuff definitely isn't as good as a brand new one, but is there anyway to tell if something is refurbished or not (console, controllers etc)...I have a refurbished controller, and the casing is different (feels different), and I can tell, but as far as consoles go?
and would you buy a refurbished unit if it was way cheap?!
Say....50 bucks for a ps2, or XBox?

Arrrrrrrrr, I'd a definately give it a shot...just make sure ya can return it if ya get a bum unit.

ive seen many ps2/xboxs that were 'refurbished'
there is actually a sticker, on the bottom, and usually inside (about where the reset cable is taped down)
that reads 'refurbished'

even so, $50 is a good deal for all kinds of spare parts

Arrrrrrrr, EBgames, Gamestop, and Game Crazy are good sources if ye have any around ya. Hell, do a google search and ye may find some online retailers.

You can get's a lot of refurbed stuff on Ebay just they want to do damn much...I seen this guy on BST forums selling refurbed ps2's for like 50 bucks...He sold a bunch, and had good references. Can't find his thread though (he did say he ran out of ps2's and would start selling XBox for 75 like the following week). He also has a site, but I can't seem to find it.
I was thinking about getting me a refurbed GC on Ebay though (as I really don't want XBox to much-would have to buy it and mod it, and already got ps2, and plus GC has good titles), but 80-90 bucks is a bit much for refurbished GC IMO...Could get the real thing used for not to much more...

Don't think they had a warranty on em, but the guy was pretty good, and had great refs...I'm sure he would have stood behind the product, but I dunno for how long...I need to find him again.

no i mean microsoft should have the warranty if its refurbished. but i dont even care, just find it!
