reboot virus...? help!

ones again my old pc has got a old virus. (think it is collecting them or something)

anyway. after a while online a warning message is chown and it starts counting down to a reboot, then it reboots. what whas this called? how did u aid this? please help me and my stupid pc..

To my recollection, these are the symptoms of the Blaster worm. Microsoft should have a fix for this on their website or you can search on Google. Had to do a ton of these on the network back in high school.

wow this sounds like an old virus

it kills a service or somthing and windows then shuts down, you need to go into service manager and tell the service to restart on closure, not to shut down

then you have time to fix the problem

Or you can simply disconnect from the Internet while you fix it; that's what we used to do.

rpc blah blah blah just go into control panel then administrtive tools services find Remote Procedure Call (RPC) go to its properties click on recovery tab and set it to do nothing rather than restart problem fixed it is indeed blaster or its varient cant really remember nimida or something

It's that damn lsass.exe one. Just delete that file in the windows dir and you should be ok. but yeah avg will nuke it.
