question about freeipods.com and similar sites

I was wondering if anyone has done this...if it actually works...or is it just another scam...from what ive seen on the net...there are articles in wired magazine...the people from the screen savers have done it and they say it works...but i still dont know

please let me know what your thoughts are on this subject...i am not trying to spam anyone ....i am not trying to get anyone to sign up under me...i havn't signed up for it myself...i am trying to get feedback from others who have tried it to see if it indeed does work...

mods...if this is a bad subject, please let me know and ill delete it...im not trying to piss anyone off...

My friend Dave did it..it works, it just takes time and its much harder to do now since so many people have done it. The hard part is finding people willing to go along with it, and then they need to find people..etc. Its a pain in the ass and not worth the effort to me.

^^EntwinedWS is right....its a pain in the ass....to through all the stuff u have to do jus for an ipod......rather then that jus go to a store and buy it rite there on the dot no hassle.

thanks for the replys...i can just make a gmail account just for this...give a gmail account to all my friends and get one...i just didnt want to waste my time to get scammed in the end...now who wants to sign up under me?!?....j/k

Nope. They don't steal your credit card info. They do however sell your email to spammers. That's why it's advisable to set up a separate email account just to sacrifice it to spam. The freeipods scheme is just a trapezoid scheme. The people at the top of the screen will get free ipods but then there are so many people who just languish below with 1 or two referrals not completed. That's how the company makes its money. If you have 5 friends....preferably real life friends that will go under you, you should easily get an ipod however.

well with anything you do on the net involving your cc...there is always that possibility of that info getting into the wrong hands...but i dont think that they are just handing out that info...plus looking further into it...the blockbuster thing is the same thing if you were to go to blockbuster directly...thank you for your imput on the subject Nismo

you can try visiting www.freeoffersguide.net for more info or go there and try to get referals. they have like a referal exchange thing in their forums.

i think its all alot of bull and causes alot of unwanted hastle.
especially if your cc number gets jacked.
