Ps1 problem –
01-30-2004,04:11 PM
I just got a call from someone who is playing a newer ps1 title on his machine. He said the console will shut down (?) just on a certian part on this game. He is sure it's some sort of copyright protection thing and so want's to me to put a switch to cut power to the chip on his machine. I told him that it doesn't look like copyright issue, rather the disk or machine and told him that a switch *probably* won't help. But he's sure that it will. But hey, $20 is $20.
Any thoughts? (P.S. The game is an original)

i think if you playing copyright games then you won't be able to play it at all. A message will pop up and has this 1-800 number on it. The nexts best thing you can do is find a path for the game and path it and burn the game.Or you can take off the chip and get one of them psx boot disc instead, By the way what game is this?

Never heard of that... and I think it's impossible. The PSOne is not designed in such way as a PS2, and to power it off (if you mean that when talking about shut-down) with software is not possible. Yes, what game is that ?

I wish I remember the title, I only know it was one of the last titles to appear for the ps1
